Roderick Insurance Brokers is a locally owned family business headquartered in Geelong, with a branch in Werribee. It was founded by Keith Roderick in 1986. Beginning as a two-man venture, the brokerage has grown to around 30 employees, including Roderick’s wife and two children.

The firm is part of the Steadfast Group, one of the largest insurance brokerage networks in Australia and New Zealand. It is also a member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and the Geelong Chamber of Commerce.

As part of Steadfast, Roderick Insurance Brokers is able to lean on the strength of over 343 brokerages with over 1,100 offices across Australia. It has access to a range of exclusively negotiated policies, providing customers with better prices for quality coverage.

Roderick Insurance Brokers offers the following insurance products: business, office, retail, trade, construction, owner builders, builders warranty, commercial vehicle, motor fleet, public and products liability, farm, transit strata, professional indemnity, management liability, sporting clubs, home and contents, landlords, private motor, motorcycle, caravan, boat, travel (retail and corporate), and life insurance.

Its Geelong headquarters houses its commercial and business insurance broking teams, as well as its personal insurance division, which includes home and contents and caravan insurance. Meanwhile, the Werribee team handles motor, home, and boat insurance, and also deals with business insurance matters.

Keith Roderick, managing director
Keith has been in the insurance industry for over 50 years, and has led Roderick Insurance Brokers since 1986. He continues to work closely with clients to make sure they have the right protection for their businesses, personal assets, and lifestyle. The driving force behind his business’s success, he says, is a strong client focus and passion to get them the right cover.

Wes Roderick, general manager
Wes joined his family’s insurance broking business in 1995, learning broking from the ground up. This makes him uniquely placed to offer clients expert broking advice.

Marnie Roderick-Shepherd, general manager
Marnie joined Roderick Insurance Brokers straight out of high school. She later left to work in the European insurance market, but returned to Australia to fill a vacancy in the family business.

Karli Roderick, account executive
Karli has been with Roderick Insurance Brokers since 2004. She specialises in equine/horse insurance and farm insurance, being personally involved in the Western Horse industry. She also participates in local horse showing and organising events.

Kristy Caccaviello, senior broking executive

Culture
Present in the Geelong and Werribee areas for over 30 years, Roderick Insurance Brokers has significant contributions to the communities, through sponsorships and donations.

In 2011, Keith Roderick was awarded a YMCA life membership and named ‘basketballer of the year’ for his association with the YMCA basketball club and other activities of the organisation. His efforts in basketball have also been recognised by Basketball Geelong in 2017 with a life membership. He is a patron of the St Laurence Geelong Supercats Basketball Club, and in 2012 was the naming sponsor for the Roderick Geelong Lady Supercats.

According to the company, it employs local people and uses and promotes local suppliers within the insurance industry, whenever possible.

Roderick Insurance Brokers assists the Cystic Fibrosis Victoria organisation, as well as the Leukaemia Foundation. In July of each year, it partners with the Geelong Insurance Industry Social Club to organise the ‘Jai Roderick Memorial Race Day’, a horse race in honour of Keith’s son Jai, who passed away in 2008 due to leukaemia.

Other causes supported by the company are: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Kidney Health Australia, Starlight Foundation, and the Kids Plus Foundation.
