A global broker has appointed two senior leaders to its Australian business.

BMS Australia has hired Stuart Davies, an industry veteran with 25 years of experience in the UK and Australia, and Samantha Ford, who has 15 years of experience at Lloyd’s and in the Australian market. The two will report directly to Andrew Godden, BMS Australia CEO.

In his new role as director, Davies will focus on all aspects of corporate risks, including D&O and PI, as well as advising on placements across key emerging risk areas such as cyber, litigation risk (adverse costs), warranty and indemnity insurance, and reputational risk.

Davies joins BMS Australia from Gallagher, where he was state manager for New South Wales. He previously held senior roles at Aon and JLT.

Ford began her career as an office administrator at Lloyd’s underwriting agency Booker International, before moving to Newline Group as syndicate administrator. She then became assistant account executive at Marsh’s Australian division in 2006, before finally serving in a variety of senior roles at Gallagher’s Australian unit since 2008.

Davies and Ford “are fantastic additions to the team and will form part of our continuing strategic build-out in the region,” Godden said.
