Global insurer Chubb has announced a number of appointments to its Australian business.

Chubb has appointed Ben McGregor as property manager for Australia and New Zealand (A&NZ), John dePeters as cyber and technology industry practice manager, also for A&NZ.

McGregor, current Southern Region property and casualty manager at Chubb, brings to his role as property manager 25 years of general insurance experience, including 15 years with Chubb. He will be based in Melbourne until Sept. 1 and will then move to Sydney.

As cyber and technology industry practice manager, DePeters, previously Chubb’s regional cyber underwriter for Asia Pacific, is responsible for Chubb's technology industry practice and cyber portfolio in Australia. He moved to Sydney from Singapore to take up the new role.

In the financial lines team, the insurer recently appointed Hayden Baker as financial institutions product manager for A&NZ, and Glenn Crombie, commercial crime product manager for A&NZ, to an additional role as head of Chubb’s commercial D&O portfolio in A&NZ.

In the New South Wales distribution teams, Chubb promoted Simon Stevenson to IBU distribution manager for property at NSW, and will transfer Daniel Crombie, current IBU underwriter for marine, to join Simon’s property team as IBU underwriter for property.

Stevenson’s appointment will allow Adrian Habils to relinquish his dual role as IBU/GBU distribution manager for property and focus solely on the GBU role.

In the South Australia distribution team, James McEntee was promoted to property distribution manager for SA/NT, while Stuart Quigley was promoted to financial lines distribution manager for SA/NT.
