The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and TAL have announced the winner of the 2018 AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award, which recognises the talents and contributions of women in financial advice to their clients, the community, and their profession.

Donna Lee Powell from DLP Life Design was presented with the award at the AFA National Adviser Conference, and will take home a $15,000 tailored education package, courtesy of TAL.

Powell started her career in financial services in 1995, and started her own consulting business in 2017. She specialises in helping women who are facing life-changing events.

Powell is a “truly inspiring individual and a worthy winner of the 2018 Female Excellence in Advice Award,” said Phil Kewin, AFA CEO. “She has used her personal adversity to educate and improve the lives of many women in the community."

Niall McConville, TAL general manager of retail distribution, also congratulated Powell on her win, saying she’s a “worthy winner” in a year where the award saw record nominations of more than 300.
