The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has introduced the Donna Walker Awards, created in remembrance of the late board member.

Walker, who passed away in 2019 while climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, was a respected leader in the insurance industry. She was a chief technical officer at Allianz and a board member at ANZIIF, where she actively engaged with emerging insurance leaders to improve the industry.

The Allianz Donna Walker Awards aim to celebrate individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of insurance professionalism and promote diversity and inclusion throughout the insurance industry.

The awards will have one winner from two categories: Inspiring Leadership and Emerging Talent. Entrants are required to record a video entry that is compelling and based on evidence. You may nominate a colleague/peer or self-nominate, and everyone working in the insurance industry can apply, regardless of sector or personal identification.

The winners will each receive a $1,000 cash prize, and they will be recognised for demonstrating outstanding professionalism, commitment, achievement, and passion in the insurance industry.

ANZIIF will open registrations for the Allianz Donna Walker Awards on August 04, 2021, until September 03, 2021 at 5pm. Entries can be made via email to [email protected].

The winners will be announced at the Women in Insurance Panel Discussion at the end of September.
