Brokerage boss joins major player

A regional manager who has worked for OAMPS, Willis and PSC has snapped up the opportunity to take his career further in a “pivotal” new role.

Willis Group Holdings has appointed Neil Gray to the role of general manager – Western Australia, effective immediately.

Gray will be responsible for Willis Perth’s day-to-day operations, and will play a key role in major account servicing, business development and underwriter dealings, ensuring that local clients are provided with the full range of Willis’ global resources to meet their risk management needs.

In addition to his role as state general manager, Gray joins Willis’ senior leaders as a member of the Australasian executive team, contributing his expertise to help with business growth and client retention nationally. Based in Perth, he will report to Tony Barber, deputy CEO of Willis Australia.

Prior to joining Willis, Gray was regional manager for PSC (McKenna Hampton). He also headed up OAMPS WA and SA operations for almost six years, as Western region manager. Before moving to Australia, Gray worked for Marsh UK in senior roles such head of office and regional service director. He began his insurance career as a property and casualty underwriter.

“His extensive industry knowledge and significant technical expertise makes him an excellent fit for the position. Neil provides a strong boost to our Perth operations and will play a crucial role in driving the development of our WA team in the future. We welcome him to the organisation.”

Gray’s expertise spans a range of industry sectors including Construction, Heath Care and Aged Care, local Government, manufacturing, retail, broadcasting, airlines, professional risks, labour hire, and Multi-national clients with Captives.

He has been a member of the WA NIBA Committee since 2006 and was WA Chairman from 2007 to 2009.
