Gallagher has demonstrated its support of women in the civil construction industry through its sponsorship of the annual Women in Civil High Tea being held at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

As event sponsor, a diamond sponsor of the Civil Contractors Federation South Australia, and long-time sponsor of the national CCF, a team of Gallagher representatives led by Charmaine Noble, SA branch director, joined in the festivities.

The team included Tom DeSantis, Gallagher Adelaide’s team leader and business development manager, and Deborah Finlay, Jane Garforth, Bronia Henty-Smith, Enza Pacetta and Michele Smith, with guests Patricia Goodwin from Gallagher Bassett and Sharon Norman from Wholesale Plants & Products.

The gathering was attended by 140 people and featured addresses from two of the state’s high-level women in civil construction: business managers Kerry Yeates from Eichler Earthmovers and Jemma Bishop from West Coast Bitumen, the winner of the 2018 Women in Civil Award, presented at a recent Gallagher-sponsored gala event.

“It is our pleasure to be involved with these initiatives to encourage women to leverage opportunities in the civil construction industry, especially in stepping up to management positions,” Noble said. “At Gallagher I think we’re very well advanced in the company’s cultural attitude towards diversity, and in particular women are recognised and supported in the development of their careers throughout the organisation, offering some wonderful opportunities to develop and progress.”
