Gallagher Bassett has recognised the outstanding achievements of its staff over the past 12 months at the annual GB Awards night with five award categories – Guide, Guard, Go Beyond, Growth, and The Gallagher Way.

GB’s NSW consulting team of mental-health professionals received the Guide award, which recognises outstanding examples of customer service.

Danielle Birchmore, return-to-work specialist from South Australia, went home with the Guard award, which recognises an outstanding impact made to GB’s financial state or reputation, or the reputation, financial state, or position of a customer.

GB said Birchmore “has done some significant work, particularly with three large clients, guarding their financial exposure through effective claims management which has led to reduction in premiums for those clients” and “has also assisted to guard the reputation of her clients through the collaborative work she does with them in regards to the care and compassion they demonstrate to their injured workers.”

GB’s diversity and inclusion committee, represented by Bree Gaffney (QLD), Jess Armoogum (NSW), Tracey Singh (SA) and Tanay Bhatia (VIC), bagged the Go Beyond award, which recognises excellence in innovation, for its significant impact to some of GB’s internal policies, as well as celebrating cultural events such as Harmony Day, International Women’s Day, and Pride Month.

Scooping the Growth award was Emma Hosking, strategic sales manager from South Australia, who was awarded based on her sales over the past 12 months – most notably the instrumental role she played in helping GB to enter the Northern Territory.

The Gallagher Way award, which recognises the demonstration of GB’s values, was awarded to Stephen Seymour, dispute resolution officer from Victoria. GB noted that after a particularly complex conciliation meeting, Seymour received positive feedback from the conciliation officer and from the injured worker’s representative for his compassion and professionalism in dealing with the dispute.

"GB Awards are truly a celebration of excellence,” said CEO John McNamara. “At Gallagher Bassett we absolutely believe that our people are our strength, and it was fantastic to have the opportunity

to formally recognise the work that our most valuable assets – our people – do on a daily basis. I’m incredibly proud to work with a team of dedicated, compassionate and professional people."
