A few months after it tapped a global advertising leader to join its ranks, a Sydney-based insurance giant has named a new partner that will help the company realise its creative aspirations for its stable of brands.

IAG, which brands include NRMA Insurance and CGU, has appointed The Monkeys as its lead creative agency, following the February appointment of IAG's chief marketing officer (CMO) Brent Smart, former Saatchi & Saatchi New York chief with more than two decades of creative, brand, and content experience.

“We have huge creative aspirations for our brands and The Monkeys are the right partner to help us realise those aspirations,” said Smart. “We just love their obsession with the work, believe in their team’s strategic vision and feel there is a real cultural fit with our new marketing team.”

Smart also thanked IAG's incumbent partner M&C Saatchi for its contribution during their three years of working relationship.

Mark Green, The Monkeys group CEO, expressed excitement over their team-up with the insurer.

“We love working with ambitious clients and Brent and the team at IAG will be great partners,” he said. “The team at The Monkeys cannot wait to get started.”

IAG's relationship with its media partner Mindshare remains unchanged.
