An NSW insurer and care provider’s charity arm is now accepting applications for a share of a $4m funding pool for innovative ideas to improve quality of life for people living with a serious injury.

“We’re looking for ideas that could make a tangible difference to the lives of people who are seriously injured in NSW and the people that care for them,” said Barney Smith, interim general manager at icare Foundation. “Together, we’ll co-create new solutions to ensure that these people and their families get the support and services they need.”

Applications for icare’s Quality of Life Fund are open to community organisations, not-for-profits, social enterprises, and individuals with great ideas on how to:

  • provide practical or emotional support for carers and families to better support seriously injured people
  • enrich life and provide a renewed sense of value and purpose for people living with serious injury
  • assist people (and their families) to adapt to life post-injury
  • help people to manage chronic pain effectively
  • foster social connection and inclusiveness

“By targeting five fields, we believe we can spread impact across the key areas where people are struggling the most to create real, practical, and effective solutions now and into the future,” Smith said.

icare Foundation is accepting applications until Feb. 15. Interested parties can register to attend an information session on Feb. 6 at the Start Up Hub on York Street, Sydney.
