The Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA) has announced the opening of nominations for the Regional Safety Award at the 2018 Regional Achievement and Community Awards.

The Regional Safety Award recognises Western Australian regional road initiatives that encourage fewer and less serious injuries from motor vehicle crashes.

“The Regional Safety Award is one way we can acknowledge community members and groups who aim to keep our regional roads safe for everyone,” said Kane Blackman ICWA secretary. “We encourage people living in regional areas to submit their nominations for the 2018 Regional Safety Award.”

In 2017, ICWA paid out $145.6m in claims to people injured in regional crashes, Blackman said.

Nominations for the 2018 Regional Achievement and Community Awards close on July 34. To nominate for the Regional Safety Award, click here.
