McLardy McShane has established its first joint venture in Queensland, marking a significant milestone in the company’s national growth strategy.

The expansion follows the acquisition of Dixon Insurance Services, which was finalised in December. The company will continue operating under its original name as a long-standing corporate authorised representative of McLardy McShane since February 2022.

Founder Ken Dixon, who has spent over two decades building the business’s reputation in Queensland, will remain actively involved.

“We’re thrilled to see Dixon Insurance Services progress into this next phase. Having worked with [McLardy McShane] for the past few years as a corporate authorised representative, we are excited to be partnering with McLardy McShane and continuing to bolster the Queensland operation,” Dixon said.

Joining the Brisbane operation is Taylor Burstow, who began working with the company in September. With over 16 years of broking experience, Burstow was recognised as the 2023 National NIBA Young Broker of the Year.

“Whilst our AR network has continued to grow throughout Queensland in recent years, this expansion for our joint venture network into Queensland is a really exciting step for the company,” chief of growth Nick McLardy said.

“With Ken continuing to work in the business and Taylor being an outstanding young leader, we are confident in this new journey for McLardy McShane. Both have deep knowledge of the Queensland market, so we feel we’re in very good hands.”

The announcement comes ahead of the opening of another joint venture, McLardy McShane Yarra Valley, as the company continues its nationwide expansion.
