Adelaide-headquartered insurance broker MGA Insurance Group (MGA) has expanded and strengthened its presence in regional South Australia by opening a new office in Cummins.

The launch of the new Cummins office, located on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, was attended by local clients and insurers.

MGA executive chairman John George OAM welcomed 140 guests to the launch, including local manager and representative David Guidera.

“Above all, MGA remains a family-structured organisation with a unique model that brings our MGA representatives into a true business partnership rather than a traditional employer-employee arrangement,” George said. “We grow together and share our successes. This is beneficial to our people and our clients, who are assured of the highest levels of service expected from those who operate their own business.”

The original Cummins office was founded by Barry Kearsley, who employed David Guidera in 1998. When Kearsley was ready to retire, Guidera took over the business and continued to grow it.

“I was delighted when my old friend Barry brought David into his business,” George said. “David and his team have developed the business into the fine operation you see today. It is a family business, and it is great to see David’s son Sam now active in a broking role.

“On behalf of the MGA board, congratulations to you, David and your team. These premises, I am sure, will provide an excellent base for many years to come.”

MGA is one of Australia’s top 10 insurance brokerages, with offices and local portfolio managers in every mainland state and territory and Cambodia. It pioneered a partnership model of local portfolio managers serving over 65,000 clients. The insurance brokerage opened the Cummins office after launching a new Sydney office this year.
