Transport and logistics insurance expert NTI Ltd has gone into high gear with its mental health and well-being efforts by backing not-for-profit initiative Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds as the latter’s top-tier “Open Road” partner.

The goal of Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds is to create a single national mental health plan for the industry, with NTI’s support signifying the insurer’s multi-year investment towards the well-being of all members of the supply chain in Australia.

“We know being a transport operator is one of the most dangerous jobs in the country – both physically and mentally,” said NTI chief executive Tony Clark. “NTI has a long history of providing 24/7 access to mental health and well-being services to customers.

“Our partnership with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds is about taking this further to ensure everyone in the industry has access to help and education about mental health and well-being.”

NTI’s involvement will see the insurer collaborate with the likes of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator and the Australian Trucking Association.

Clark added: “We’re not just about keeping trucks on the road and sustaining businesses – it stems further than that. We’re talking about individuals, families, and livelihoods. For an industry to thrive, we need to engage and take care of its greatest asset – its people.”

Meanwhile, an official online launch event will be hosted by Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds on August 18.
