Insurer RAA is calling for nominations for its Risky Roads Survey in a bid to identify the worst streets in South Australia and help address problems with the road network.

The organisation said it seeks to repeat the success of its 2017 Risky Road Survey, which received nearly 3,000 nominations. Since then, $201 million have been spent and another $581 million have been committed to fixing 19 of the 22 most nominated roads and intersections from that survey.

“We invite people to nominate roads and intersections which they find difficult or confusing, poorly planned or performing, as well as risky and dangerous,’’ said Charles Mountain, RAA senior manager of safety and infrastructure. “RAA wants everyone – whether they’re a motorist, cyclist, or pedestrian – to name anything they think is unsafe on our roads. This feedback is important to help RAA understand issues with the regional and metropolitan road network, and work with authorities to improve road performance and safety for all road users.’’

Nominations close on Dec. 06.
