Victorian insurers are being called on to nominate industry professionals for the inaugural Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Community Service Award.

The award recognises an individual who has made a positive and noteworthy contribution to a regional community.

Nominees will be considered based on their contribution to a regional community, demonstrated outstanding professional conduct in their dealings with the community, excellent leadership and/or innovation, and contribution to an area that advances the well-being of a community outside the insurance and finance industry such as education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, and the environment.

Entries close on Monday, 20 October 2014. The winner will be announced at the ANZIIF 2014 Regional Conference on 20 November in Ballarat.

Institute CEO Prue Willsford said: “Insurance is a business that is crucial to the well-being of regional communities but many insurance professionals in regional areas also play a significant role helping people, the environment and other causes outside their paid work. This award is intended to acknowledge the good that those working in insurance are doing in and outside the industry.”
