Suncorp continues to extend its support to flood-impacted customers in Townsville and surrounding regions with a $200,000 donation to the Red Cross.

“It has been devastating to see the impact of the severe weather on these north Queensland communities,” said Michael Cameron, Suncorp CEO and managing director. “We are showing our support with a $200,000 donation that will go towards assisting in the recovery.”

The insurance giant, whose network of brands includes AAMI, Apia, Shannons, Vero, Bingle, Resilium, and CIL, previously announced a financial assistance package for customers impacted by the catastrophic floods.

“The financial relief package provides flexible finance options for those who are experiencing hardship due to the extreme weather,” Cameron said.

Suncorp is urging customers in the water-ravaged region to remain safe as they inspect the damage to their properties, before contacting their insurer to report their claims.

“The safety of our customers in these flood-affected areas is our number-one priority, and so our teams are urging residents to take every precaution,” Cameron said. “Our thoughts are with all of those who have been impacted. Our customer support teams are on the ground, providing initial assistance to those in need.”

Suncorp customers can lodge a claim by visiting the insurer’s website, calling 13 25 24, or contacting any Suncorp brand they are insured with.
