Suncorp insurance CEO Gary Dransfield championed gender diversity in the workplace and female representation in leadership roles at the recent inaugural Women in Insurance Leadership Summit, where he was keynote speaker.

Dransfield, who is also a founding member of the Male Champions of Change (MCC) Insurance Group, said there is still “a long way to go in reaching equal representation in all leadership positions across our industry” despite the significant progress in increasing gender diversity.

As part of the MCC group that works to redefine men’s roles in acting on gender inequality, Dransfield said he has conducted a series of employee forums to develop a deeper level of insight into the obstacles and challenges in advancing gender equality within the organisation and broader society.

“Gender equality sits with all of us, and we must work together to push for faster change,” Dransfield said. “I strongly believe that we will be our best when our workforce is as diverse, talented, and passionate as the communities in which we live and operate.”
