The Bridge International, a management consulting business headed by former insurance bosses, has launched a new mission statement a year after its launch in Australia.

Insurance Business reported on the launch and ambition of The Bridge last month, and its goal to disrupt the management consultancy industry. Headed by two former insurance professionals, Stuart Blake and David McDonald, who both previously worked in major companies including IAG and QBE, The Bridge has grown in terms of offices and personnel.

With an aim to ‘shake-up’ the industry, The Bridge utilises knowledge from industry experts to serve its customers. Understanding the importance of innovation, collaboration and technological improvement, it has become an official sponsor for Insurance Business’s TechFest in May. The event will marry expert industry knowledge with insights into the field of technology in insurance.

Just as important for The Bridge as innovation, is commitment and fulfilling its promises. Last week, the firm launched a ‘performance guarantee’ initiative with the aim of ensuring that it always delivers on what is agreed with customers.

Stuart Blake, co-founder and managing director of The Bridge, explained the importance the firm places on ensuring promises are kept.

“We believe we’re the first management consulting business to actively publicise this type of guarantee, but we fundamentally believe if we don’t deliver what we promise and what our clients expect, we shouldn’t be in business,” he said. “While performance guarantees are not common in management consulting, we are introducing this to ensure our partners get what they deserve.”

The guarantee is to achieve pre–agreed performance outcomes and delivery timeframes, ensured by the firm’s ‘triple play’ philosophy. This sees The Bridge engage in everything it does with a balanced approach between customer experience, positive financials and building a strong culture and purpose.

“We won’t go AWOL - we deliver on our commitments,” Blake said. “Our triple play philosophy ensures that you get the whole picture – customers, financials and culture.”

Significantly, this guarantee is included in the small print – this is not just a soundbite, but a promise confirmed on paper.

“Yes, there is small print,” stated Blake. “The terms and conditions are defined contractually through mutually agreed goal setting and timeframes with clients.”

The Bridge International is an official sponsor of the Insurance Business TechFest. The event will take place at The Fullerton Hotel in Sydney in May - registration is still open.
