Australia’s regulators have been generally supportive of the insurtech revolution, with its introduction of the regulatory sandbox in late-2016, a framework it reviewed in late 2017.

While encouraging, there have been comments that the framework limits insurance start-ups from playing in the sandbox.

Find out what is in store on the regulatory side from ASIC’s group senior manager – insurance Emma Curtis and APRA’s general manager – licensing Melisande Waterford who will be at Insurance Business’s inaugural Insurtech Summit this May.

They will speak about:

  • APRA and ASIC’s approach to innovation
  • How changes to APRA’s licensing framework will impact the insurtech industry
  • How regtech can help address regulatory and compliance obligations
  • The future of insurtech regulation in Australia.

Curtis and Waterford will also provide tips for working with regulators – a session not to be missed.

Other topics to be covered at the summit include trends in insurtech, blockchain, integrating insurtech into legacy systems, and harnessing technology to delight customers. View the full conference schedule.

It’s not too late to register for the summit. Insurance Business readers can book in here. Further discounts apply to group bookings of four delegates.

The Insurtech Summit will be held at the Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney on Tuesday, May 08, 2018.
