Suncorp has selected two more startups to join its three-month program at Suncorp’s Digital Labs in Brisbane.

The 90-day program offers local fintech and insurtech startups the opportunity to test and validate their ideas and gain access to mentors, designers, data/APIs, and experts across technology and business.

Athenix, founded by Lachlan Teale and Austin Wilshire, and My Business Manager, founded by Ian McManus, were invited to collaborate with Suncorp on new and innovative projects, after a two-day boot camp which culminated in a series of pitch presentations by applicants to a panel of judges, including some of Suncorp’s senior technology, banking, and insurance executives.

Athenix, which helps people and self-managed super funds improve their investment decision-making through an innovative use of data and machine learning, was selected due its “significant potential to expand into the B2B market, where Suncorp’s Digital Labs team can provide guidance and support on this expansion.”

My Business Manager, which seeks to improve financial literacy and deliver management accounting insights for small business owners, was selected after the judges “saw opportunity to input into the platform design to scale this business, as well work with Suncorp’s small business banking team.”
