Insurance challenger brand Youi has named Angela Greenwood its new chief marketing officer (CMO) as part of the next phase of its growth.

Greenwood (pictured) will join Youi from Optus, where she was the senior director of consumer marketing. During her time with Optus, the company received the 2020 Mumbrella Marketing Team of the Year award and was named Australia's #1 strongest brand in 2020 and #2 in 2021 in the Brand Finance Index. She also held senior marketing roles at Mortgage Choice and UK-based digital marketing agency Found, where she worked with leading brands, including Red Letter Days, Disneyland, Superdry, Randstad, and Reckitt Benckiser.

In her new role at Youi, commencing on June 20, Greenwood will join Youi's award-winning marketing team in the Sunshine Coast headquarters to acquire and retain loyal customers while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Youi CEO Hugo Schreuder, who looks forward to seeing the company grow under Greenwood's guidance, commented: “Since day one, Youi has set out to do things differently, so we were looking for a CMO that is innovative, forward-thinking, and with a passion [for achieving] extraordinary outcomes – we're confident Angela is the right person to lead our marketing strategy and team.

“We're really excited to bring Angela to team Youi, and [we] believe she is going to have an enormously positive impact on not just the marketing team, but [also] the entire Youi experience for both our people and customers.”

Commenting on her entrance to Youi, Greenwood highlighted the company's brand strength, focus on exceptional customer service, unique internal structure, and distinctive position in a rapidly evolving insurance sector.

“I'm thrilled to be joining a successful challenger brand that's dedicated to improving the Australian insurance industry by offering customers a compelling choice and adapting to the changing needs of the community and environment,” she said.
