Meridian Lawyers (Meridian), a boutique law firm specialising in the provision of legal advice in insurance law, corporate, and commercial law, has announced a series of internal promotions, effective from the beginning of this month. These changes will see both Joanne Hayes, who is based in the firm’s Sydney office, and Joseph Taylor, of its Melbourne office, promoted to special counsel.

Taylor, who was admitted to practice in 2006, has worked extensively in the field of insurance law, with a focus on property damage, personal injury and common law claims, litigated motor

vehicle claims, indemnity disputes and fraudulent claims. Hayes, who was first admitted to practice in 2015, has specialised in medico-legal matters for much of her career.

In addition to these, Meridian has promoted James Papworth (Sydney), Shane Dawson (Melbourne) and Will Goodheart (Perth) to senior associate, while Jeremy Smith (Melbourne), Kristina Fox (Brisbane) and Lauren Biviano (Sydney) have been made associates.

MD of Meridian, Paul Baker said he is proud to announce this latest round of advancements. He noted that it is good to see those who have delivered exemplary client service and are playing such an instrumental role in the success of the business, gain this well-deserved recognition. These promotions recognise the individual achievements of insurance team members and reflect their continued focus on adding value to client relationships.
