Apollo Global Management has entered a new partnership with PGA Tour golfer Patrick Cantlay, ranked among the top players globally.

As per a report from The Royal Gazette, Cantlay will be the first brand partner for Apollo and its affiliated retirement services company, Athene, as part of their strategy to broaden the reach of their asset management and retirement services.

Cantlay, currently fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings, has achieved eight wins on the PGA Tour. His accomplishments include being part of the victorious US Ryder Cup team in 2020 and the Presidents Cup teams in 2019 and 2022. He was also named the 2021 PGA Tour Player of the Year.

“We are thrilled to partner with Patrick as he embarks on what we expect to be another successful season on the PGA Tour,” Apollo co-president Jim Zelter said. “His relentless pursuit of excellence, commitment to his craft and rigorous approach to the game aligns with our approach to investing. Apollo Global Management stands as a rapidly growing global alternative asset manager, with approximately $631 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2023.

Athene, an affiliate of Apollo, specializes in retirement services and reported total assets of $270 billion as of September 30, 2023. The company operates in Bermuda, the United States, Canada, and Japan. Recently, Athene announced its decision to relocate its holding company from Bermuda to Delaware by the end of the year.
