Cecilia Warren is at the forefront of innovation within Australia’s insurance industry – as the head of IAG’s research and development team, she collaborates with external partners to deliver insights on the balance between emerging technology and human needs. One of her key areas of interest is autonomous vehicles; in January 2019, she spoke to the Australian Financial Review about the challenge of determining liability for autonomous vehicle coverage.
“We still believe there will be risks on the road, so let’s keep the schemes designed around people to make it as easy as possible to recover after something as awful as a collision on the road,” she said. “What we don’t want is a scenario where a customer has to line up to make a claim against a global manufacturer.”
