Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has announced the return of its Making a Difference Awards for 2023, with submissions for various categories now open.

The awards highlight individuals across different sectors in insurance who have gone above and beyond to display exemplary professionalism for their workplace and clients. They were established as part of ANZIIF’s Year of the Insurance Professional initiative with the aim of recognising individuals who have demonstrated exceptional professionalism.

All award winners will receive a prize valued at AU$500, a feature profile on the ANZIIF website, and a digital badge to verify their award. The categories for the Making a Difference Awards are as follows:

  • Claims – winner will be announced at the AICLA/ANZIIF Claims Convention
  • Life – winner will be announced during the ANZIIF Group Life Seminar
  • Underwriting – winner will be announced at the UAC Adelaide Expo
  • Reinsurance – winner will be announced during the ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast
  • General Insurance – winner to be announced at the ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast
  • Broking – winner will be announced during the ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast

Submission of entries will close on August 25. ANZIIF general manager for industry engagement Mark Silveira said that the awards are a fantastic way to recognise exemplary professionalism in the industry and shine a spotlight on the quiet achievers.

“By celebrating the success stories within our industry, we can continue to uplift our peers, highlight the great work we do and raise the profile of insurance in the community. We encourage insurance professionals to enter, either by self-nominating, or nominating a colleague or peer who has demonstrated outstanding professionalism, commitment, achievement, and a genuine passion for the insurance industry,” Silveira said.
