Following a two-year hiatus, ANZIIF’s New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards night is making a comeback, with the 2022 edition to be held in Auckland on Nov. 30.

The 2020 event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 threat, while the awards were held virtually in 2021 as the pandemic continued.

“We are overjoyed to see the return of the industry’s night of nights and celebrate the 10th year of the awards in New Zealand,’ said ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford. “Submissions are now open. Our judging panel will be looking to see how our industry has continued to support the customer, community, and its people, and the extraordinary achievements that have helped our industry grow and flourish.”

For 2022, awards will be given out across 15 categories, with four new additions. These are:

  • Excellence in Environmental, Social and Governance Change, which recognises an outstanding organisation that deals with how ESG issues affect its business's strategies and practices
  • General Insurance Claims Team of the Year, which recognises a claims team that has demonstrated excellent technical skills, strong claims results and outstanding customer service during 2021
  • Insurtech Start-up of the Year, which recognises a technology company that enhances, extends or replaces a traditional approach to servicing insurance customers’ needs
  • Authorised Representative of the Year, which recognises an outstanding broking company that generates 80% or more of its premium income from an authorised representative (AR) model and shows exceptional service for its ARs and customers

“We look forward to receiving your submissions and seeing you in person to celebrate at Cordis Auckland,” Willsford said.

Submissions close July 18.
