A senior leader with extensive experience leading complex operations through periods of change and growth has taken a new role as chief operations officer of a travel assistance and insurance provider.

Kevin Blyth, who previously held senior roles at AIA New Zealand and AMP Service (NZ) Limited, has been appointed as the new COO of AWP Services New Zealand Limited, trading as Allianz Worldwide Partners and Allianz Global Assistance.

Blyth’s appointment follows Bart Taylor’s promotion to COO for Allianz Worldwide Partners in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

The Auckland-based role will see Blyth take charge of identifying solutions to assist the company’s continued growth in the NZ market.

A believer that innovation can come from within the team, Blyth said his new role is “to provide our people with the best opportunities so they continue to grow, while finding different ways to... do an even better job for our partners and customers.”

He added: “Allianz Worldwide Partners is an integral part of the insurance industry, looking to provide better outcomes for its people, partners and customers, and that aligns very well with my values and ideals.”

Renato Mattos, AWP Services New Zealand Limited CEO, said Blyth’s experience will be a huge asset to helping the business maintain world class service levels.

“Kevin is well-versed in operational matters, and understands the challenges faced by the industry,” he said.
