Fidelity Life has announced a suite of adviser-led innovations aimed at strengthening the life insurance sector across New Zealand, according to a media release.
The initiatives were revealed at Engage on Tour 25, a cinematic event held in theatres nationwide, where the company launched its mission to “Spark the Future of life insurance.”
The insurer has committed to six key areas of development, all designed in response to adviser feedback. These include value-add enhancements, ease of doing business improvements, adviser development programmes, community connection initiatives, thought leadership resources, and customer and adviser wellbeing support.
“We’re stepping up – together with advisers – to lead the change and spark the future of life insurance,” chief commercial officer Bronwyn Kirwan said. “Our new initiatives aim to reignite the importance of life insurance and spark even greater client conversations.”
Among the value-add enhancements is the expansion of Cancer Companion, now available to customers with Life and Income Protection cover. The service provides cancer coaching support programmes, access to cancer specialists, and mental health support. A new Cancer Caregivers programme, delivered in partnership with Osara Health, offers a six- to 12-week course for those caring for loved ones with cancer.
Fidelity Life will also provide free access to an online will service through Footprint NZ for eligible customers from March 2026.
Business operations will be streamlined through E-App improvements, including quote sharing with administration teams and application numbers in confirmation emails. Underwriting innovations such as no-evidence requirements for lump-sum special event increases and increased medical limits are already live.
The company has opened registrations for its Adviser Edge programmes, including Advice Masters, Professional Pathways, and Career Connect. A digital maturity framework will help advisers assess their capabilities across technology, client engagement, leadership, and operations.
Four places for co-funded Outward Bound leadership courses will be available in 2026, and Fidelity Life will continue its MDRT platinum sponsorship.
A new grant-based programme, We support who you support, will back local clubs, charities, and community causes nominated by advisers. Applications open in November.
Fidelity Life will also launch Cutting Through, a guide featuring strategies for maintaining client engagement, in November. The company has made Raise counselling services available now, offering free, confidential support for customers and advisers dealing with hardship, grief, and stress. Behavioural economics training is set to launch in early 2026.
