Australia’s largest global insurer and a technology innovator have collaborated to bring rugby fans a new app that will keep them updated with news and social media content from the British and Irish Lions as they face off with the All Blacks in New Zealand this summer.

QBE Insurance Group and RightNow Digital have unveiled ‘QBE Rugby’, a one-stop-shop for real-time rugby content in May, June, and July that offers behind-the-scene access to the Lions’ team as it gears up for the 2017 series against the world champions.

The app, which can be downloaded on iOS and Android devices, features social media updates from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as posts from the Lions’ team coaches, players, and legends. Also included in the app is QBE’s own rugby content which will complement other rugby news.

Nick Mott, head of sponsorship at QBE said the new app provides them with an “innovative and exciting opportunity to engage” with rugby fans in the lead up to the British & Irish Lions campaign and beyond.

“We wanted to create something unique for the rugby follower who currently has to go to numerous sites to keep up with developments in the game,” he said. “I’m confident our app will be an essential accessory for every true rugby fan.”
