Nick Meister has been managing Club Marine in NZ since 2016 and is accountable for product, underwriting, sales, claims, P&L, compliance, regulatory and overall business performance. As a niche underwriter with stiff competition, this has been no mean feat – especially considering that he’s a relatively new player into the industry. Meister’s role extends far beyond the standard insurance process, also encompassing Club Marine’s various affiliate products – including successfully managing and growing key facets of the business such as sponsorships, local member benefits offerings, re-launching Club Assist, and being an active member of both Marine & Insurance industries.
Meister aspires to be a proud ambassador of the insurance industry and to be a leader for those looking at insurance as a possible career pathway. He’s determined to change the standard way most enter the insurance industry – rather than falling into it, he wants to see insurance as a career path many school leavers will consider when finding their place in the world. Meister also strives to one day re-shape the standard insurance process in NZ though utilising developing fin-technologies, proactive regulatory focus, and evolving underwriting models to deliver a new experience and vehicle for how insurance is transacted locally.
