Vauxhall, the maker of Corsa Energy cars, is offering buyers free cover underwritten by Ageas Insurance Ltd.

While stocks last, Corsa Energy and Limited models ordered or registered between January 09 and March 31 will come with first year motor insurance at no cost. The British automaker, which is now owned by French manufacturer Groupe PSA, said the insurance deal will cover the full premium for drivers aged between 21 and 75 who have held a valid full UK or EU licence for a minimum of one year.

The offer is exclusively available through Vauxhall Insurance Services and only at participating retailers.

A report by The Telegraph said younger motorists, whose car insurance premiums are usually the costliest, are looking at potential savings of as much as £2,200 with the giveaway. It added that the freebie comes amid job cuts at Vauxhall under its new ownership.

PSA’s brands include Peugeot and Opel.
