Agria Pet Insurance UK has announced its appointment of Tom Vaughan as its head of direct marketing. Vaughan’s main focus in his new role will be to improve the customer experience the company offers pet owners, according to a news release.

Vaughan’s appointment will allow Agria to leverage digital and other media to build a stronger customer acquisition and communication strategy, according to Simon Wheeler, managing director of the company.

“Pet insurance means that pets can benefit from high-quality veterinary care without owners worrying about the cost, and because we offer lifetime policies, those who choose cover from Agria often stay with us for life,” Wheeler said. “Tom will ensure we communicate those benefits clearly, helping pet owners take the important first steps in responsible pet ownership with us.”

Prior to taking his new position, Vaughan worked in general insurance, including travel, motor, home and life coverage.

“I really look forward to building up the achievements of the fantastic team at Agria and positioning the company at the forefront of direct and digital marketing,” Vaughan said. “There are so many new opportunities for growth and innovation within the pet insurance sector, and being able to match that with an excellent range of tailored products makes this an especially exciting role.”
