Aston Lark is celebrating St Patrick’s Day a day early with its acquisition of Dublin-based North County Brokers Ltd. The Balbriggan-based brokerage, which was established in 1999, offers independent advice to businesses across a wide swathe of insurance and risk management services, with a team that has significant experience in a range of sectors including technology and communications, manufacturing, import and distribution, and motor trade.

The company will initially enter the Aston Lark Group under Robertson Low, a temporary arrangement as Robertson Low and Wright Insurance Brokers will be rebranded as Aston Lark Ireland in April 2021.

Commenting on the deal, Robert Kennedy, Aston Lark Ireland CEO, said the team is pleased to welcome North County Brokers into the Aston Lark Group, as its MD and team have built a great business over the last two decades and earned their reputation for expertise and customer service.

“This is the start of an exciting journey for Aston Lark in Ireland as we rebrand next month,” Kennedy said. “With further deal announcements imminent, we are on track to realise our ambition of becoming Ireland’s leading independent insurance broker.”

Group CEO of Aston Lark, Peter Blanc said he was delighted to see that Kennedy and the team in Ireland had completed their first acquisition and they are backed by the group to become Ireland’s first-choice acquirer of high-quality brokers. Blanc noted he was excited about what they can achieve.

Meanwhile, John Horan (pictured), North County Brokers MD, said the brokerage was delighted to be part of the wider group and looks forward to growing and developing the business to the benefit of both customers and staff.

“We feel we share many traits and synergies with the Aston Lark Group,” he said, “and are excited to expand our potential into the future.”
