Specialist insurer Beazley has expanded its fine art and specie capabilities with the hiring of leading Lloyd’s underwriters Mark Bosshard and Scott Sellick.

Sellick and Bosshard, who will be joining Beazley in November from XL Catlin, have a market-wide reputation as expert underwriters of fine art, general specie, jewellers' block and cash in transit property risks.

“The diversification of our property portfolio continues with the hire of two highly respected underwriters who have built, over a long period, the skills and relationships to underwrite these highly specialist classes of business profitably while offering exceptional client service,” said Mark Bernacki, head of Beazley's property division.

With Sellick and Bosshard’s appointments, Beazly will “continue the international expansion of this business while building a strong presence in specie and fine art,” according to Simon Aitchison, head of the jewellery and specie team.

An 18-year veteran, Bosshard has been a fine art underwriter at Marsh, XL Catlin and Lloyd’s.

Scott, meanwhile, has over 13 years of experience and has expertise in jeweler’s block, cash in transit, fine art and general specie.
