Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced enhancements to its multinational services and capabilities. This includes the expansion of its partner network and internal teams to work on multinational services as well as adding multinational products and adopting new technology to elevate service quality.

BHSI’s services can be accessed in 178 countries, according to a news release. It recently expanded its internal team of multinational experts to 13 cities across the globe and expanded its capabilities to include surety bonds.

“We continue to evolve our multinational services and capabilities to keep pace with the increasing needs of our customers,” said David Valzania, head of multinational at BHSI. “BHSI has always been agile, and we are demonstrating this again as we strategically expand to deliver best-in-class multinational programs and service to our customers and distribution partners.”

BHSI has also adopted WorldLink, a digital solution for managing and servicing multinational programs. The technology resulted from a collaboration with London-based insurtech ChainThat. The news release said WorldLink has improved the company’s workflow through increasing bandwidth and allowing scalability. BHSI now uses WorldLink to transact 95% of its multinational business.

“ChainThat’s distributed ledger-centric platform supports consistency, compliance, and transparency in our multinational transactions, while delivering data clarity and protection across multinational accounts,” said Valzania. “It enables BHSI to seamlessly coordinate and collaborate across local underwriters, producing offices, and network partners, facilitating the execution of our multinational programs.”

BHSI specialises in commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, transactional liability, surety, marine, travel, programs, accident and health, medical stop loss, homeowners, and multinational insurance.
