Bluefin Underwriting to rebrand today

Insurance News

It was back in June this year that we first told you about plans for the Schinnerer Group to rebrand as Victor Insurance – now its UK-based managing general underwriter (MGU) will today undergo that transformation.

Bluefin Underwriting, which works solely with regional brokers and on behalf of its chosen insurance carriers, will now be known as Victor Insurance going forward. It will boast five teams that specialise in financial lines, SMEs, transportation risks, the third sector and agriculture.

“This is an exciting and transformational time for our UK MGU,” said Paul Drake, president Victor International and Victor Insurance in the UK. “Although we have been working with Victor colleagues across the world for some time now, operating under a unified global brand will enable us to deliver an enhanced service.

“There is a lot more to come from Victor in the UK in the MGU space. By developing new and relevant products in our specialist markets, and embracing systems that drive efficiency, our goal is to bring innovations that meet the evolving buying and trading trends of our brokers and customers.”

Victor Insurance describes itself as the largest MGU in the world boasting locations in Canada, the US, Bermuda, Italy and the Netherlands in addition to its UK arm. It handles more than US$1 billion in premium on behalf of numerous insurance carriers. You can read an interview with Victor CEO Christopher Schafer about the transition here.
