Specialist re/insurance broker BMS Group has launched a new construction unit which will be enhanced by three senior recruits who previously worked at Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT).

The firm appointed Philip Maloney as managing director and head of the newly created unit. He will be joined by fellow recent hires Scott Davison and Henry Morgan.

Maloney will report to BMS director Ian Gormley. His team will focus on US and international projects among other aspects of construction and engineering re/insurance.

“Expanding our construction capabilities enhances the suite of products that we can offer to our existing and future client base,” Maloney said.

“Phil Maloney is one of the leading lights of the broking sector, with a consistent track record of delivering growth and developing a successful book of construction business and we are convinced that he, alongside Scott and Henry, will prove valuable additions to BMS.”

Maloney most recently served at THB London as director of construction and engineering. He was also a former partner for construction and engineering at JLT RE.

Davison and Morgan were previously international construction partners at JLT Specialty.
