There is a new man on the board at Broker Network.

Paul Meehan has taken the role of independent non-executive director with immediate effect having racked up significant experience in the industry working in regional broking for more than 35 years.

Having joined Smart & Cook, a commercial insurance brokerage in 1987, he transformed the company into a multi-site business with 26 offices and over £40 million in GWP. Meehan then went on to sell the business in 2007 to AXA. Since leaving the insurer he has launched his own business, advising and mentoring high growth businesses within the insurance industry.

Commenting on the appointment, Ian Clark, Broker Network’s Executive Chairman said: “I am delighted to welcome Paul to the board. I’ve known and worked with him for over 20 years and I can’t think of a better and more suited individual to be joining the team. Paul will be a significant contributor to the development of our business in the regional broking market as we continue to grow and expand.

“It’s experience such as Paul’s that will help us drive forward our strategy and maintain our position as the UK’s largest Network of independent brokers.”

Paul Meehan added: “I am thrilled to be joining Broker Network at such a critical time in its evolution. The role of regional broking is changing in many ways and I hope my experience will be valuable to the Network as it navigates a number of exciting developments.”
