Fidelis Insurance Holdings Limited, which recently opened a state-of-the-art trading floor in London, has appointed a new marine head for the group.

The arrival of Paul Russell is part of the company’s marine expansion and follows the launch of Fidelis’ marine-focussed specialty managing general agent Navium. Led by Clive Washbourn, the MGA commenced underwriting in May.

“We are looking forward to Paul joining our team as he brings with him a wealth of experience and client relationships that will further enhance Fidelis’ offering and uncompromising service and commitment to delivering the best insurance solutions for our brokers and clients,” said Richard Coulson, the group’s insurance CEO and Fidelis Underwriting Limited chief underwriting officer.    

According to Fidelis, the operations under Russell and Washbourn place the group among the biggest marine offerings in the London market.
