Haven Insurance has opened a larger office in Gibraltar, marking a further investment in the jurisdiction as the Acorn Group-owned insurer looks to support the next phase of its growth.
The business said the new office is around 70% larger than its previous premises. Officially marked with a ceremony attended by minister for Justice, Trade and Industry Hon Nigel Feetham KC MP, the expansion is intended to give Haven Insurance more capacity to grow its team over the coming years.
Haven said it has invested more than £200,000 in the new site, transforming it into what it described as a state-of-the-art facility for its workforce of more than 20 employees. The move reflects both the company’s continued development and its long-standing presence in Gibraltar, where it has been based since 2002.
Colin Thompson, chief operating officer of Haven Insurance, said the relocation represents an important step for the business. “This move marks an important milestone for the business and reinforces our long-term commitment to Gibraltar, where the company has been based since 2002,” he said.

Thompson added that Haven continues to play a key part within the wider Acorn Group. “Haven Insurance, which is part of the Acorn Group — the UK’s largest non-standard insurer — plays an essential strategic role in the underwriting and risk management process,” he said. “This investment in a new office creates a more modern and inclusive working environment for our team, and provides the additional capacity we need as the business continues to grow and expand.”
The announcement also comes as the broader Acorn Group continues to highlight workplace culture as part of its growth strategy. In 2026, Great Place to Work ranked the group as the 25th best place to work in the UK in the Super Large Company category, a recognition Haven said reflects the organisation’s ongoing efforts to create a supportive and engaging environment for employees.
Haven Insurance noted that the new Gibraltar office points to itss intention to deepen its operational base, invest in staff, and strengthen its role within the Acorn Group as the business continues to expand.
