IUA adds senior market leaders to governing board

Newly elected board members to help trade association meet its objectives in busy year

Six senior London market executives have been added to the governing board of the International Underwriting Association (IUA), the trade body has announced.
 
During the IUA’s annual general meeting on June 29, five new board members were formally elected after being co-opted to serve over the past 12 months.
 
They are five senior market leaders are James Weatherstone, Arch Insurance Europe president and CEO; Jon Hancock, RSA UK Commercial managing director; Brian Kirwan, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty UK chief executive; Mark Chapman, Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers group CIO; and Dirk Herrenpoth, managing director of Munich Re’s UK general branch.
 
Rob Wilson, business development Manager at Chubb Global Markets was also recently elected to the IUA board. 
 
IUA chief executive Dave Matcham said the trade body now has a “very strong team of extremely knowledgeable senior leaders” from both insurance firms and reinsurance companies.
 
“I am greatly encouraged by the level of interest from a wide range of members to serve on our board,” he said.
 
“The IUA has a busy agenda for the year ahead and the engaged support of a well-informed board will be essential in helping to meet our objectives and represent the interests of member companies,” Matcham added.
