Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Ankita Dutta as its new senior underwriter for financial risk solutions (FRS).

Dutta (pictured) has seven years of experience across multiple roles in the global insurance market. Most recently, she was the lead underwriter for credit and political risk at Zurich Insurance Singapore. She brings to the LSM team a wealth of experience in credit and political risks and a strong technical background.

In her new role at LSM, effective immediately, Dutta underwrites a broad range of complex credit and political risks, strengthens broker relationships, and contributes to the London business’s continued growth. She is based in London and reports to Sam Wilde, head of London markets (FRS) at LSM.

Wilde has welcomed Dutta to the FRS team, adding: “[Dutta’s wide-ranging experience in the global insurance market will further strengthen our ability to adapt to the growing breadth, scale, and complexity of the FRS London business. Ankita, with her outstanding technical ability and background, is perfectly placed to support our team in its mission to provide an unrivalled service to our broker partners and insureds.”

The announcement follows LSM’s creation of a delegated authority practice (DAP) and the appointment of a newly created role of head of DAP. Earlier this month, the company appointed a newly created role of head of property and casualty binders.
