To ensure that brokers’ interests are fully represented in the area of delegated authority claims, the London & International Insurance Brokers’ Association (LIIBA) has created a new sub-group for its Broker Delegated Authority Working Group (BDAWG).

The new claims sub-group will meet monthly under the leadership of chair Ben Kelly, who serves as claims manager for risk solutions claims at Ed Broking.

Commenting on the launch, LIIBA associate director Jackie Hobbs described the new claims sub-group as a relatively small and agile expert group that will inform BDAWG about the claims aspect of delegated authority work.

“BDAWG itself tends to be more focused on broking and technical matters and therefore it was felt the formation of this group would ensure all areas of delegated authority business receive broker representation,” noted Hobbs.

Brought to life last July, the bigger working group is aimed at examining the impact of the London Market Target Operating Model on delegated authority business.
