Lockton Re has appointed Jerry Ridge to take the reins when current head of reinsurance George Carrington retires this spring, the company has announced.
In his new role, Ridge will lead Lockton Re’s reinsurance professionals across the US and the UK. He will also continue to oversee the company’s marine and energy reinsurance practice.
Ridge joined Lockton in June of last year. He has 37 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, and served as chairman of global specialty reinsurance at Willis Re prior to joining Lockton. He has also served as co-CEO of Willis Re Specialty and managing director of Willis Re Global Marine and Energy.
“As Lockton Re continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading global reinsurance providers, I am delighted to welcome Jerry to his new role,” said Neil Nimmo, CEO of Lockton International. “Jerry brings close to four decades worth of experience within the reinsurance market, which will be invaluable as we continue to execute our ambitious international strategy. I am confident he will continue the success achieved under George’s leadership, building on his impressive track record of growth and high-profile client wins. I would like to thank George for all his dedication and leadership, and wish him all the very best in the future.”
James Moss will continue in his role as business leader for non-marine reinsurance, and Carla Moffett will continue as business leader for strategy and business development, the company said.
