Wholesale online insurance specialist Policyfast has appointed former AXA executive Kelly McCann as new business development manager for Northern and North East England.

McCann joins a team of six business development executives that cover the entire UK, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Commenting on her new role, McCann said she aims to help brokers win business by providing comprehensive understanding of Policyfast’s vast range of competitive products and services.

“I believe our multi-panel insurer choice gives the broker one of the best online services available in the market and I’m very enthusiastic to promote that to our broking audience,” she said.

McCann will play an “integral part” in developing long-term relationships with existing and new Policyfast users, according to Kim Ellis, the insurer’s head of broker development.

“Her product and broking knowledge will be invaluable as we grow our presence in the Northern regions and define more innovative solutions for our broker base,” Ellis said.

McCann most recently served as commercial development manager at Fish Insurance, where she developed new business partnerships by providing bespoke insurance propositions.

She also held managerial roles at UK General Insurance Group and UKGI for two years.

McCann stayed longest at AXA, where she was liability injury case manager for more than three years and key account executive for over four years.
