Catherine Brown (pictured) has joined the boards of two QBE units.

Tapped to serve as non-executive director (NED), Brown is now part of QBE’s Lloyd’s managing agent QBE Underwriting Limited and company market carrier QBE UK Limited.

Currently she also holds other positions such as chair and NED of Additive Flow, non-executive board member at the Cabinet Office, and NED of FNZ (UK) Limited and Metro Bank.

“Catherine’s breadth of business experience means that she is very well-placed to contribute across a range of issues that are pertinent to QBE’s business, with particular expertise in the areas of strategy, human resources, regulatory, and operations,” noted Tim Ingram, chairman of the board of QBE European Operations Plc.

Brown is also a trustee of charities like Cancer Research UK and Blue Cross.

“I am intrigued by the strategic opportunities and threats that the insurance sector is facing, by the opportunities presented by technology,” she commented.

“I feel that the industry is on the edge of something significant. QBE’s scale is attractive because it is well placed to manage through and benefit from these changes.”
