Lloyd’s re/insurance broker RFIB Group has appointed seasoned industry executive Glenn Jackson as a managing director of its American division.

Jackson will immediately take up his post at RFIB Americas – which was launched last May – and will report to Nick Foden-Pattinson. He will be based in the international broker’s office in Tampa, Florida.

“I am delighted to be joining RFIB Americas. The US is a market with huge growth potential and a genuine demand for truly independent, customer-driven brokerage,” Jackson said.

Foden-Pattinson said Jackson, who has 11 years of experience in the insurance-linked securities market, will play an important role in RFIB’s continued business growth.

“Realising our ambitions for RFIB Americas will require exceptional individuals who share our client driven focus, have the ambition and vision to propel our business forward and can offer the market a genuinely bespoke and independent service,” he said.

Jackson began his reinsurance career in 1982 at Intere Intermediaries and later held a series of reinsurance broking positions at major industry players, including Aon Re and Willis Re.

He most recently served as senior vice president at Beach Re, formerly known as Axiom Re. In this role, he was involved in advising capital market participants and re/insurance companies in the structuring, modelling and execution of alternative reinsurance transactions.
