Marine insurance provider Skuld has added two new veteran underwriters to its specialist marine and energy syndicate at Lloyd’s.

The Norwegian insurer has appointed Paul Fry as deputy active underwriter and class underwriter for hull and Sarah Wilson as senior underwriter.

The two hires are joining Skuld's Lloyd's syndicate 1897 later this year, coming from global insurer Aspen.

Fry previously worked as head of marine hull at Aspen Risk Management in London, where he was also a member of the joint hull navigating committee and the joint war committee. He joined the company in 2004 with his then 10 years of marine underwriting experience.

Before joining Skuld, Wislon recently served as senior underwriter at Aspen and was a member of the navigating limits sub-committee. She joined the insurer in 2009 as marine hull underwriter and also worked as business support manager.

“I am very happy to see our strategy for Skuld 1897 taking shape with two senior appointments,” said Skuld president and CEO Stale Hansen.

“Paul and Sarah are a key part of strengthening the hull capability of our 1897 underwriting service, which is a core product,” he added.
