Major brokerage Towergate has renamed its London market broking business to Bishopsgate following the appointments of some experienced industry executives.

Bishopsgate, which specialises in property, liability, motor, professional indemnity and jeweller’s block insurance, has been rebranded ahead of an office move to 55 Bishopsgate in London in February 2017.

“Our new name reinforces the incredible roots our team has in the city’s insurance market,” said Bishopsgate managing director Neil Pearce, who joined the business in August from Windsor Insurance Brokers.

Pearce is supported by broking and distribution director Paul Longhurst, who moved to Bishopsgate after running Bluefin’s London market broking team for 25 years.

“We have a team with formidable collective experience and a level of integrity and insight that I know are in high demand,” Pearce said. “We will provide a great environment for talent to come in and work in an un-conflicted truly independent broking house.”

Launched on Wednesday, Bishopsgate aims to give regional brokers better service, deals and market access.

Towergate said Bishopsgate will provide regional retail brokers with quotes within a guaranteed timeframe and be innovative at working to set up new facilities for specialist products.

“The team and I look forward to visiting and working closely with brokers across the UK to provide with them a first rate service proposition and via Bishopsgate, access to our extensive panel of Lloyd’s and London Market insurers,” Pearce said.
